Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about.

— Sir Winston Churchill

Three weeks ago, I picked up the Trumpet again after a few years away from it and spent an hour each day working on basics and going through both orchestral and wind band excerpts. I really miss playing the Trumpet… Recently, Lertkiat Chongjirajitra suggested we do a Trumpet Recital together and even include students. He said that standards of playing should not be the focus. We should work towards a sharing of our love for music and our love for the Trumpet. This idea is still going through my mind and I am really excited about such a possibility. Let’s see if we can set up the gig…

Last year, I wanted to form a Stage Band within the RPWS but we did not have the necessary numbers and people to make it happen. Today, Friday, 19 May 2017, I am really proud to share that we have formed a Big Band within the RPWS! It is in its infant stages and have to crawl through the basic repertoire and stylistic playing but I am proud of what we achieved today. I played with the Band and I really enjoyed it. I really miss playing the Trumpet… There is so much potential for contribution to both School and Community. I can’t wait to showcase the group’s talents and musical achievements.

Look out for us!
