I have never been a good student, I have attended only one conducting masterclass by him many years ago. But one thing for sure, his masterclass is the most memorable for me. The lessons I learned from him went beyond what he taught on the podium. His presence on the podium, the way he wielded his baton and the sounds he conjured out from the ensemble, it was awe-inspiring. If you want to be a conductor, Maestro Douglas Bostock is one conductor you must learn from and watch.

My colleague, Shaun Leoi and the nWinds is organising a conducting masterclass again this year with Maestro Bostock from 28 to 31 May 2020 at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore. There will also be a concert at the end of the course as part of the WINDS Weekend! 2020 Gala Concert conducted by Maestro. So if you are able to participate, please apply. Observers learn a lot too! You can opt for this if you feel that you are not ready and want to experience the learning atmosphere before applying for future ones. The concert at the end of the course is one you should not miss. I promise you, it will one of the best concerts you will ever attend and for some of you, it will be the best concert to date.
