This is just something that I am thinking about right now. I did this movement about 15 years ago and till today I wished I could have done it better. It was hard to conduct this without rehearsal and making sure the soloist is supported well and the ensemble kept together and I don’t get lost in the score! It was a real test for conductors young and old I think.
