The Republic Polytechnic (RP) is the youngest of Singapore’s 5 Polytechnics and it is the most progressive of all. There are 7 Schools (Applied Science, Engineering, Hospitality, Infocomm, Management and Communication, Sports, Health and Leisure and Technology for the Arts) which will provide industry-based education, training and exposure to students as they prepare for the demands and challenges of working life. As part of our holistic education efforts, CREATE is home to many Interest Groups (IGs) that aims to provide balance throughout a student’s education journey with RP.
The RP Wind Symphony is the Premier Band in the North of Singapore and we will be having our annual Band Tune-in on Saturday, 18 January 2020 from 10:00am to 5:00pm to provide an opportunity for future students of RP and our friends to enjoy a great day of fun and music and also to get to know the band and its members!
If you are currently waiting for your GCE O Level results or in Secondary 3 or from any of our Institute of Technical Education (ITE) partners and starting your vacation or someone who plays a musical instrument listed below, I would like to invite you to spend the day with us at The Republic Cultural Centre (TRCC) in Woodlands!
Musical instruments will be provided for you on the day but if you have your own, you may bring it.
What will you be doing for the day?
- You will get a chance to check out our ultra-modern Campus;
- You will be participating in fun and exciting games especially planned for you;
- You will be having instrumental sectionals with our members and get to know them better; and
- You will be reading both challenging and fun wind band music!
For student conductors and band majors, there will be a lesson on conducting technique and a select few will get a chance to conduct the band during the combine!
