Every conducting teacher is different and offers different perspectives on technique and interpretation. So when you attend a conducting masterclass, you  must try to learn as much as you can from the clinician and from the other participants. After the session, go away, reflect and internalise what you learned and then, try to use that knowledge at the next earliest opportunity with an ensemble and see if it works for you. Not all that you learn is suitable and that is totally okay.

Always be grateful, respectful and open-minded.

Remember that the music is always within you.

Be welcoming and inviting.

Focus your gestures to communicate only what is necessary.

Always say Please and Thank you to the ensemble.
