I am proud to announce that ALL Active Participant vacancies have been filled.

We have 12 external and 2 internal candidates for this year’s edition and I am excited at the prospect of working with all of them on some of the most important band repertoire available. It will be challenging for some and a humbling experience for others but at the of the workshop, when we all conduct at the concert, we will all have a sense of achievement and respect for the music and each other.

There is simply not enough opportunities for young musicians to learn conducting here in Singapore and I hope through the Woodlands Young Conductors Workshop program, Republic Polytechnic‘s contributions to the growth of local talents will be appreciated and acknowledged by all.

Just a quick note. I am thinking of organizing the Inaugural Woodlands Symposium for Band Conductors (WSBC) in 2017. This symposium will feature Clinicians from various parts of the world and the focus will be on music education, repertoire and conducting technique.
